does less strings mean no Amy, I would consider no amy as being comparable to no Bernard when Oaksey arrived, anyone?

Dearest Brett,

You are working with Leo Abrahams? The same guy who helped out on David Byrne's latest album? Which was, in my opinion, his best record since leaving Talking Heads? That, my good sir, is neat news.

But next time you're talking to him, can you ask him to tell you a neat anecdote about David Byrne and then relate it to me here? Thanks a million.

Yours,
NCHaze

This is by far the second best news I've received in 2009! The first: I am going to London this Autumn. Hope I'll get to go to the preview concert of this new album!!

Thank you Brett!

we are using less piano and strings and more woodwind and guitar.there are meandering instrumental passages and musical places i wouldn't normally be able to visit if i was working completely on my own

sounds intriguing. I like the use of the word meandering and outside this quote, the idea that art is a deepening mystery. Although there is no hope of solving that one, let's follow the clues.

a moody, atmospheric and elusive piece of unpredictable? sounds great.

question - many times the "floating" grooves are crucial to more ambient music, any idea who'll deliver beats and percussion?

if not, do give david holmes a call... him and mr abrahams sounds like a good fit.

This is exciting news, Brett. Thanks for the intriguing update. Sounds as though it will be well worth the wait.
Fully back the Bacon line...
Best of luck with the rest of the writing and recording.

I am sure Brett's new songs will be great, but he needs to get much more promotion.

I don't know, I think that with time the music will reach a bigger audience but on its own terms.

With this new collaboration Brett is well on his way to establish himself (again), as a genuine solo artist with the respect that his work deserves.

Taking it step by step and sort of staying outside the music buisness is probably a very wise call.

hes also at a different place in life. doing a bunch of promotion would mean less time for loved ones and at forty he might have different priorities. seems more interested in artistic advances.

Thanks for the update, Mr. Anderson and I hope to see you live again, soon. 2008 was cool, caught you two times.
If Brett plays any festivals in Germany 2009, please let me know. ;)

A more spacious experimental record sound perfect, it could be Brett's own ' Another Green World '( only better)
